Between fen and mountains

Winter fuel

I waited in this morning for the log delivery, wrapping some presents to make good use of the time. Just before the log trailer arrived, someone parked right across my drive. Usually this happens several times a day when people use the shop next door and it can be quite frustrating not being able to get out. However, today the car remained across the drive for an hour. This meant that the delivery vehicle had to double park in the street causing traffic congestion while the driver, his mate and I barrowed a cubic metre of logs up to the house. The driver it the parked car eventually arrived and was very apologetic and given the sincerity of her apology and it being Christmas I forgave her! I then had to throw the logs all over the fence and barrow them again to the shed and coal bunker for stacking. I earned my teatime cake today!
