School's Out

For me anyway. I did my last day at the crossing I've been covering since June. Relief patrol has definite advantages - which is why I do it - variety, the freedom to say yes or no to a shift. The disadvantage is that I don't become part of the school like a regular patroller does. Having done my time I fold my stick and silently steal away: as Longfellow may or may not have said.
