Ford are shit. We have a 6 year old car and the cheapest way of dealing with it is to probably sell it for scrap. The turbo the garage fitted lasted 3 miles - during their road test! According to what I've read the only way to guarantee an end to the problem is fit a new engine. It is a bad design that somehow Ford have made even worse (though the same engine has the same problems in Peugeot, Citroen and I think Mazda) but Ford are never going to own up to this as it would probably break them. Some garages - even Ford ones - are refusing to take on the work of replacing a turbo. Looks like we won't be taking a holiday next year. Never buy a 1.6 TDCI!
