The night lights of SLC
A slow start start to the day, not doing much, young C was at playschool till mid-day and K and M at work.In the afternoon we went to the "Childrens Museum" at Gateway Discovery downtown where young C had a wonderful time. Its an extensive facility where all sorts of real life situations are set up in a play simulation form, such things as a rescue helicopter and related command centre and hospital, a supermarket where kids can pretend to buy goods and take them across the street to a family home where there is a kitchen simulation setup, or there's a mechanics workshop and car to pretend working on it, etc etc. Also an earthquake "shake table" where I had fun testing my engineering skills with building model houses with varying levels of bracing - they behaved just as predicted, but my base isolation model failed miserably, total collapse almost immediately - I put it down to inadequate isolation rather than flawed theory !!
Anyway, we lost track of time and it was well and truly dark when we came to leave, and the city lights were all on, looking very colourful and bright.
