I was just getting stuck into some pre-Christmas cleaning when it occurred to me that I hadn’t had any emails for two days. Nothing wrong with that of course but it just didn’t seem quite right.
So I delved into my gmail account and found it was out of space and it wouldn’t send or receive any emails until I freed some up.
That sounded simple enough but even after deleting about 130,000 I still didn’t have any extra space. So I twigged they were not being deleted from the trash. But they didn’t appear in the trash. There was supposed to be a button to say “delete forever” but it wasn’t there either.
There was no easy answer on Google but after much (about three hours) of searching I finally found the solution. The search box in the trash screen has to say “in:trash” and not something about “<IMAP> Trash” which is what was there.
Silly of me not to think of that......or what.

I wonder how many other the people that has happened to and why they can’t provide a simple explanation that doesn’t take three hours to find.

So it was a bit of a wasted day but think goodness the email is sorted. It makes you realise how much we depend on it.

Now we are minding the grandchildren as their parents have gone to Sydney for a Christmas party. It’s the furthest Jane has ever been from her mother so fingers crossed she keeps sleeping soundly.
