Light Penetrates

I'll always get excited by beams of light in a scene.  At this time of year, even photographing near midday provides directional light in a scene.  I'd scouted this location earlier in the week and knew I only had a short period when the sun was in the optimum position to light the side of this tree.  Even then the clouds seemed to be working against me until this briefest of moments when the sunlight broke through.

It seemed that shafts of light were the order of the day while walking through the forest and a similar beam of light provided a different effect as seen in the extra.
