Burst Water Main

We woke up on Friday morning to discover that we had no tap water. Just up the road there was plenty of water gushing out of the pavement where a one metre water distribution pipe had burst taking the pavement and a street light with it. The rush of water had taken a couple of tons of gravel and sand down the hill to block the main road.

Still there was some plus points. The lack of tap water was an excellent excuse to make an early start on the Christmas Guinness supplies. And, well, I've always wanted to live beside a river.
