Saturday: Festive

We had a bit of drama this morning when we discovered that our fridge wasn't working. We had a power outage during the windstorm on Thursday and when the power came back on, it must have blown the motor. Luckily we have a freezer in the garage and have stored the non-frozen food in cool bags. Now we're in touch with the letting agents to get the fridge repaired.

This afternoon we went to the movies with Pam and Joy to see 'Mary Poppins Returns'. It was...............outstanding! It's been a long time since I thought a movie was so perfect. It was utterly charming, and completely respectful to the original. We all loved it and agreed that we would watch it again in an instant. It deserves to be a classic for this next generation. I just hope there is space for the innocence it portrays.

We had an enjoyable meal at 'La Notte' on Dunbar afterwards, followed by a drink back at Pam and Joy's. The house opposite theirs has gone to town on their Christmas decor.
