Not a piece of old pallet!

No. It's a split oak rustic gate!
You know how it is when you move house - you see things that need doing. Some are urgent (that dangerous cooker), some are desirable (new bathroom floor) and some just wait...and wait...and wait. For the last nine years this gap has been filled by the 'gate' we inherited - a piece of old pallet fixed by old electic flex. For six years we had other things to worry about, for two years we couldn't decide what sort of gate we wanted, for eighteen months we looked for someone to make it...and now here it is!
It is still fastened with flex while we decide what sort of fastening to go for. I am wondering about a leather thong but any other suggestions would be welcome. As you can see we are in no real hurry!
