Snow? Just salt!

It was slightly overcast today and very windy so we went for a walk along the coast to Las Salinas to visit the El Carmen Salt Flats museum.

A 7 mile walk there and back (14,874 steps) so I have definitely earned a piece of cake tonight.

We have walked to the museum many times over the years but this was the first time we had paid to go in - mainly because I wanted to blip the skeleton of the fin whale which is at the back of the museum!

El Carmen Salt Flats has a total surface area of 26,100 m2 with 10 evaporation ponds, 935 crystalliser ponds and a potential capacity to produce 700 tonnes of salt per year.
