Hello to You Too . . .

Today we needed to get an emergency sim card for one of our old phones.
 
 
Our lad’s mobile finally gave up the ghost yesterday morning, with no real chance of getting the replacement he was thinking of before Xmas, and he needs one when at work (out in the sticks).  Unfortunately our old phones take micro sim cards, and his sim card is nano.
 
Our original spare phone (a Sony Ericsson Walkman) had not been used for so long that the sim account had been closed, so best idea to get a spare sim for one of our last phones, both Samsung S3.  Simples!  NO!!!
 
Argos had what appeared to be what would be ok, but not in Bourne.  Still the trip to Stamford is not that far and they had one in stock.  Picked it up and went to get the top-up card out so that I could put a few quid on at and found it was online or telephone only!
 
So I got it home and went through the setup process.  What a palaver.  Things weren’t to bad until I got to log in for the first time.  Then it would not accept the new password. So I reset and it would not take that password either.  Eventually I got locked out, and I hadn’t even got in for the first time!! 

And was there anyone that you could speak to about it - you were just pushed round in circles!

After the lockout period it actually took the first password!!??
 
At one point the setup required you to check umpteen different boxes to OPT-OUT!  You are supposed to be out unless you opt-in – a complaint has gone to Trading Standards!
 
A frustrating time and good for a rant, but at least we have got a tenner on it now.
 
And it’s given me a blip, even if it's not Tiny Tuesday.
