Yule Drool!

What a happy few hours.
Phone call this afternoon from our eldest grandson.
“ Have I a piping bag with a star nozzle?”
Well I have the star nozzle , but no piping bags.
So to cut a long story short, he came over here to bake his Yule Log.
We improvised with greaseproof paper for the icing bag. If rather messy!
First the chocolate ganache wouldn’t set, then it set too hard.
Anyhow I think the end result is fabulous.
I hope it survives the journey back to their house, and tomorrow he is taking it to his girlfriend’s mum and dads as their contribution for the Christmas dinner.

So not the relaxing Christmas Eve I had planned, but much more fun even if a little stressful at times!

It has been a beautiful day. Blue sky with just the right amount of Christmas frosty sparkle.
