Nellie Travels

I thought it was you but it's snow ewe!

Today was a bit of a mission!

The slush froze last night. We have a bridge which is accessed by steep hills on both sides. It can't be done sometimes in the winter without a 4x4. Today it was treacherous. I almost lost my nerve on the way down. It's instinct to want to put your foot on the break and not being able to because it was an ice slide was not easy!! Add to that the fact that there is a sheer drop to the river since a council lorry took away the side and I was a bit shaky when I got down to the village!! I managed to scare the living daylights out of L and C too! Only had to do it twice more to collect them again!!

Anyway when I was out and about I saw this wee lady. I stood to photograph all the sheep in the field to show the weather conditions but in the end it had to be this one alone.

In the photo you can see her scratching away the snow with her front right hoof. I got lots of photos of her scraping the snow off the grass..... eating a bit and moving on....scraping some more...eating...etc!

Best viewed large to see how wet and icy her fleece is. Who would be a sheep in this weather!

9 days to go!!
