Gifting

My mom enjoyed staying busy at our holiday gathering last night. Getting her to sit with us wasn't easy when there were dishes to do or things to clean up, so mostly I let her just do her thing, remembering to keep all my items (phone, purse, wallet, etc.) out of her sight. Who knows where they'd end up if she thought they needed to be "put away."

A delightful side of memory loss is that I can gift items to my mom that used to be hers. It's also refreshing that with Alzheimer's, she is not constrained by social niceties, so can say to my face that she doesn't much like the scarf she's wearing--the one I just gave her--so would I like it?
