A walk in the woods

After the excesses of Christmas a walk in the woods was required today. Not too many fungi to be seen but this clump of bracket fungi were a welcome find. I think that they are immature Blueing Brackets Postia subcaesia; as their common name implies they turn blue as they age! However, I stand to be corrected.
For Mrs T the highlight of the walk was meeting a young man, now at medical school, whom she had taught in his early years at primary school.
