Red Ghyll

Mist forms in the valley as the spaniel and I began our return home via Red Ghyll between Newick and Fletching. Local legend has it that the name Red Ghyll stems from a local massacre in the aftermath of the Battle of Lewes (May 1264) when the stream ran red with blood.
