Sidmouth
I was woken at 4am by torrential rain, wind and seagulls. It didn’t stop raining. The boys went to church in Bridport. I was going to go with them and go for a wander, but the rain was just too heavy. I stayed at home a read my book.
Cabin fever set in just after lunch, so we got in the car and set off with no clear plan. We ended up in Sidmouth and made ourselves get out of the car and go for a walk. The rain wasn’t nearly as heavy as it had been, but it was still very windy and just generally very grim. Luckily the rain went off and we walked along the front, watching the mist rise to reveal the cliffs and watching surfers in the wild sea.
We drove back though a couple of nearby villages, with a thought to return on a sunny day.
This shows the cliffs to the east of Sidmouth, those to the west are in in the extra, along with the surfers in the wild sea.
