Family
Another day of mayhem and food. Went down with Mt and the little ones to visit L&M and all their 5 kids and Grandad. A&N travelled separately so they could go and visit her friend Naomi on the way back, and T joined us at the end of the day too. I was surprised (and rather delighted) that they all want to come to things like this....lovely
Lot of traffic on the way down but then just relaxed into the noise and chaos and lovely food as always. Grandad really very frail - he’s now physically ill as well as increasingly struggling with memory - and upset that he’s not able to drive any more. I’m not sure how much longer he’ll be with us so good to see him again and give him a photo of 3 of the grandchildren and his 2 great grandchildren to go and show Nanny (not that she’ll know who they are) when he visits her in her care home. She’s rallied recently after an ill period but is also very frail.
Chatted to M some more about the flat design we’d discussed when he and Angus were up in Edinburgh recently and rethought the kitchen move that I’d thought about.
The children all played together really well and Mx loved J and the cat, giggling, following them around and playing with a football together, and AR was really taken with so many people all happy to amuse her and play any game she wanted.
We stayed longer than we’d expected but had an easy drive back as they both slept and Mt and I chatted about his work and possible options for H in the future....
