Valle de los Caídos
A monument and Catholic basilica near Madrid that serves as Francisco Franco’s tomb. It was to be a symbol of atonement after the Spanish Civil War, although some of the workforce that built it consisted of Republican prisoners of war. The cross above it is 500ft tall.
