Peaches

I got almost a dozen large peaches off our little tree this morning! The poor thing is really weighed-down with them (one branch is actually broken - but seems to be still passing through enough nutrients to keep leaves and fruit behaving as they should), so I took what seemed reasonable: of a good size; not actually hard; starting to smell peachy; coming away relatively easily.

There are many dozens remaining... Such a massive change from every previous year (in the few we’ve had it): the netting seems really to be working this year, and critters aren’t getting any of the fruit; and the tree itself is going berserk with the number and size of fruit.
