Winter in the Botanics

Another sunny day so we decided it was time to visit the Botanics for our annual check on the Witch Hazels, as our own, having started early, is now in full fig.
Still a little early, only H. pallida and H. var. Jelena (like my own) are showing colour but there were other sights to delight us - a Christmas Rose (Helleborus niger) and a resident robin, which posed in view of the reconstructed Botanic Cottage.
