Snow!
We woke up to snow and very low clouds this morning. The boys wanted to stay indoors to work (university and school stuff) and so Gavin and I decided to go visit St Moritz which is in the next valley, and by train was only just over an hour's journey away.
We were last in St Moritz many years ago when Thomas was only 3 and a half and I remember cycling around the lake with Thomas in a backpack on Gavin's back. I remember it was quiet and charming town. Today however, I found it a bit soulless and mainly consisting of very high end designer stores that can only attract a certain kind of clientele. We had a coffee and then walked across the frozen lake, with me looking for something to photograph in the colourless day and continuous snow. It's also higher than our village and was much colder there.
We then got the train back again - the journey itself passes some spectacular scenery although on a snowy day one could not see much of it. Back in our village we stopped for a salad for lunch and then walked up and down the river in the falling snow, where many others were doing the same. This is the view when walking in our village plus an extra of the river. We managed to walk about 10km today which is not bad considering the weather conditions.
Back home to the apartment and now just relaxing.
