The Ice Rink

Church this morning then popped over to the Rink at lunch time.
The friends of Whitley Bay rink were having their Annual meeting.
I gatecrashed as I know a few people.I only stayed 10 minutes.
They all have a skate before lunch.
the tractor was doing a good job of smoothing the ice for the queue of people waiting to go skating.
the photo shows David the organiser and three ladies who became Professional Ice skaters.I was chatting to Francis the owner and saying how I watched the Rink being built.hard to believe it was 63 years ago.
At that time the family lived in a flat on the premises.The kids used to catch the bus to the local School and I was on the same bus going to work.
Happy days and I still can't skate ;)
