'cello 1

Somewhere in the back of my mind these images were lurking and I wanted to try and take some shots of +1/2's 'cello. Not quite as easy as I'd hoped it might be...

I'm trying Picasa as a replacement to iPhoto for a while. First impressions are: it's very fast, it appears to do "the right thing" with RAW when exporting to JPEG but the options for even basic image manipulations are limited: no sharpening, no tinting, it feels a bit too simple. Bah. I keep saying this, but it's probably time to pay for something better.

The question is: what? having experienced the large performance improvement with Picasa (and this is in a dual core mac, up to date, with 4GB RAM; not much by mac standards but still not crap) I'm hesitant to go for Aperture.

Singing with the cubs this evening. Painful doesn't really do it justice.
