Tree dance
A bit of processing with this shot to emphasise positivity at the start of the year. The trees look as if they are celebrating and having a bit of shindig! 'Scottish Woodlands' who manage my local wood has controlled the regeneration of beech and sycamore to allow the more recently planted native oak, ash and birch saplings to grow. This tree which looks to me like a larch has been there for a long long time. It sheds its leaves in winter and because of this is an ‘honorary broadleaf’. It’s a member of the pine family and evolved in the snow forests of Northern Europe and Russia, so a bit of Scottish weather is a breeze to a larch! However today was gloriously sunny with a temperature of around 8 degrees.
