Winter beach
On a day when all the pavements in town and certainly the forest paths above it were covered in sporadically treacherous black ice, we discovered that there had been no snow south of Innellan and had a wonderful walk along the shore road and out the Ardyne (I know - again!). This is the mouth of the burn that I suppose is the one we used to cross in the hills above the farm before a passing cow made a large, muddy, hairy dent in our car door while attempting to squeeze between car and wall. We lost faith in that particular parking-spot and have not walked there since, sadly.
However, this bit of shore was so sheltered from the north-west breeze that we kidded ourselves we could have stopped for a picnic. We had, of course, considerable clothing on - but it was wonderful.
