Sun streaming in this morning tempted us up and out and off to the beach. Yesterday's strong winds have gone, and it was positively balmy at the beach. Not balmy enough to tempt us into the sea, though many folk did. But those folk don’t care if it's balmy or not - they're 'Loony Dookers' - a quaint Scottish tradition on New Year's Day. Thank goodness we didn’t see any mankinis like last year!

I was disappointed to see that wee caravan was very busy, and there was a long queue even for coffee, so NO bacon baps! Though OK for liver muffins, luckily for Archie.

We came back home for a much healthier fresh fruit salad breakfast. The 'diet' has begun. Though it's not a resolution.

In the afternoon we dropped Archie off with Rufus while we went to the movies. We saw 'The Favourite'. Splendid costumes and wigs (and that's just the men).
