Ab Fab That Saffy Survived To See 2019

We watched the New Year's Day concert from Vienna this morning and as I left the house after lunch MrQ was settling in to The Railway Children.

I went to North Weald in the hope of sipping a coffee at The Squadron and shooting some planes. The whole airfield was closed so I took Ollie dog to North Weald Common for a run. She loved it and we ended up on the bridge waiting for the steam train. (Extras)

Trainspotting complete we got talking to a man who arrived in a Range Rover and called his horse, one of many in the field, to the edge of it so that he could groom her. Her name is Saffy. She was a dressage horse and suffered an injury to one of her back legs. The injury healed but her owner was concerned that it might return, also her temperament was a bit suspect. When the man and his daughter heard that Saffy was to be put down he agreed to take her. They have nine other horses. Saffy is now pregnant and due to have a foal in May. The pregnancy hormones have done wonders for her temperament. I think the man's love and care for her is the reason she is thriving. She's eyeing us in my pic. Ollie sat very calmly and sensibly.

On the way home we ducked into Lodge Farm as the light was phenomenal. Yes, the golden hour really was that gold! :) (Extras)
