Happy New Year Cake

It's a thing, honest!  

I baked my first-ever Christmas cake at the beginning of December, but then - due to a series of unfortunate events - I didn't manage to ice it until Hogmanay.  So,  today, I proudly carried the (tastefully) finished article with us when we went out for New Year's Day dinner.  But we were all too full of steak pie to eat it!
