Blood Out Of A Stone

I have been giving blood for 12 years now. Sometimes three times a year, sometimes just once, but I give when I can.

It's never an easy experience as I have very deep veins and slow flowing blood and needles give me the heebee jeebees. But I persevere as I know that even part of a pint can help save a life.

Over the 12 years I have been donating this lady, Audrey, has been apart from once the ONLY person to get the needle in the right place and get the blood going!

When I said to the nurse today "Audrey usually does it" she rolled her eyes, grinned and replied "Aye, she'd get blood out of a stone that one"
