East Vows Beacon (1847)

Another stunning morning in the East Neuk opened with a beautiful sunrise over the Bass Rock. With frost on the beach, we walked west with the rising sun on our shoulders towards Kincraig Point. 

This structure was built by one of the lighthouse Stevensons (Alan) on request from the locals due to the frequency of shipwrecks on the skerries below. The cage structure on top of the legs apparently was a shelter for shipwrecked mariners!
