sNOw Good

Well were do I start? A light dusting of snow hit Essex this morning and was followed by chaos!
It all started at 6.10 when I thought we had a burglar in the house, crept downstairs, holding the tv controls (not sure what use they would be), to find Geoff back in the house. He'd left twenty minutes earlier but had hit the one and only kerb between home and work and smashed one of his wheels. He was shaken and fed up but had managed to drive the car back to the house. Could have been worse.
Phoned one insurance number and was told to phone another at 08.00 which we duly did, the garage is picking it up tomorrow and we picked a hire car up tonight.
Decided to pop into Saffron Walden en route to work, this was 09.00 ish, and you wouldn't believe the queues. Nothing really on the road but utter chaos, so determined were we to have a coffee and breakfast before heading into work that we continued to queue. Schools had been closed?! Then when we were driving to work on the nice snow free roads at 10.00 we were following a gritting lorry covering everything in its sight. I'd like to say better late than never but I really disagree.
Let's hope they get the coordination right tonight.
