Tradition
When the Cheeseminors were small one of our Christmas-morning-excitement-steadying tactics was that they opened their stocking (filled with assorted small and silly presents) on Mum & Dad's bed before breakfast, and only then the bigger presents. This worked fine when they were under 10.
Now the average age is over 25, and there's more of them, it's a bit more of a squeeze.
But the tradition remains and the presents are still very silly.
