Not quite sure how I ended up doing this particular 'round-to-it' but I dug out a couple of the old PCs from the basement.  One had a serious aim as I needed to convert some files using the original software.  The other was just to see if it worked, which it did, and duly identified itself as a different machine to what I thought it was... ah.
