Steely Span....

A bit of frost today, down to -4 early on.
A day of cattle problems and other stuff. Mrs F and the weans went to the annual Panto visit at the Kings Theatre. I decided not to go as still got the lurgie and didn’t think folk would appreciate me hacking my way through the performance .
Once I got finished up , took the dogs for a walk.
This is one of a few bridge spans that we bought when they dismantled the Waverley Line in the early 70s. It is now crossing a burn as a bridge again. It is heavy steel and stamped with the Dalzell steel mark . Google tells me they opened their steelworks in Motherwell in 1872.
I bet the new bridges from the reopened Borders Railway won’t still be in use nearly 150 years later !
