Macarons

Today was my mum's 60th birthday and it's been a day of celebrations for her with her nearest and dearest culminating in a meal with family. These were just some of the amazing lemon curd flavour macarons and lemon flavour meringue kisses that were scattered from the hem of the dress of the ballroom dancer that featured as the cake topper. Mum and dad were ballroom and old time dancers and teachers (dad's claim to fame was that he was a judge in a competition that Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas was in!) so this form of dancing runs through the family veins. She seemed suitably chuffed with the presents, meal, cake and Moet Chandon to toast such a milestone. I don't think turning 60 was as bad as she thought it would be.
