Batteries not included

Considering we didn't have many Christmas decorations up (or possibly because) we have ended up with a lot of used batteries. We have various strings of lights which we put round things, and as most of them are low voltage LEDs they only require batteries to operate. I'd like to say they just happened to end up in this formation but they didn't; I'm one of those people who can't resist putting things into the shape of a face given half a chance. Show me a banana and I'm looking for something to make up the eyes and nose.

It's probably a named syndrome. If not, perhaps they could name it after me?
