Fish and chips, Spanish style
After a lovely hour in the spa this evening (we signed up for 6 sessions for 36 euros, a considerable discount), we stopped in at local fish fryer Lute y Jesus for a drink and tapa on the way home. They have several branches in Almuñecar, and this one is a very basic operation, as close as you can get to a fish and chip shop: order at the counter, receive your food in a paper cone to either take away or eat "in" (in reality, at tables on the pavement). I can see why they're so successful: for 6 euros we got a massive pile of varied deep-fried fish, a bit of a lucky dip. It was so copious that we revised our idea of what to have for dinner to ... nothing. And we pinched ourselves at sitting outside to eat at 7:30 pm on a January evening. It's been another lovely day, but it clouded over this evening.
In the morning we'd been on H's weekly walk, around our old haunt of Velez de Benaudalla this time. It was a pretty easy 2-hour walk, but we still felt the spa visit was justified.
