I have seen hedgehog(s) visit back garden, but never front.
For a number of nights every dusk, as I put out the milk bottles, I'd see this "thing" in the middle of the front lawn. Despite checking that it was a dead flower head of hydrengea Annabelle I still did a double take for number of nights.
it's scheduled for a "powlin" shortly = death by secateur, along with the rest of the southernwood and some remaining Budleja alternifolia flower spikes.
