Historic Document

This is the first page of a 1947 document outlining the proposal to rebuild and regenerate Birkenhead after the war. It is an ambitious plan to create a modern and open town.

As my mother was heard to comment many many time it was all ruined when the Mersey Tunnel was completed and the Liverpool people came over!!!

The document itself is very long but has a wonderful coloured plan in the back (which I will blip later) and loads of detail drawings and images!
