ROV Pilot
A busy day!
Breakfast at the cafe at Hazelhead Park, followed by a play in the park and a visit to Pet's Corner. There we saw everything from a Turkey and some goats to a tropical fish, a giant snake, and an Argentine Black and White Tego.
Next we went to the beach to look for pebbles and shells, before having lunch on the esplanade. We enjoyed seeing the wind farm in the bay, as well as various ships at anchor and helicopters overhead.
After lunch we went to the Maritime Museum, where CyclopsJnr loved the huge model of an oil platform, an interactive exhibit about green energy, and an ROV in a tank you could have a shot of piloting. Here you see him driving the ROV on the right, in the shadow of a decommissioned Scorpio class medium size functional ROV. Great fun.
Afterwards we went to the Tollbooth museum. A really old building hiding behind a modern granite facade, containing cells for debtors, witches and political prisoners.
We rounded off CyclopsJnr's day with a nice swim in the hotel pool, and dinner in the bar.
After all that he went to sleep pretty quickly....
