Morning bird walk

Not a sparkling morning for photos, but a great time for a couple of hours watching birds in the Croxall Lakes Reserve, across the River Tame from the National Memorial Arboretum.

The misty view of the centrepiece of the NRA is my extra. I chose a Great Egret seen across the water from the second bird hide for today’s blip. We also saw shovelers, little egrets, an active kestrel, several grey herons and grebes, as usual ducking under the water when you have them in focus.

This was my first outing with the Lichfield branch of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. It certainly won’t be my last.
