Blocks....

It has been so damn cold for the past week ..... -12C and a bit warmer, like -8C.....that i haven't felt like venturing over to the studio to start the wood stove...i checked it the other day..... -6C in there!   so i've spent some time noodling with pastels!   Took an old image that i really didn't like, covered it with transparent gesso and some opaque gesso and started over!   i just love all the depths and layers that are formed this way.   not easy to see in the whole image.... see extras for a few close ups!

It's a very misty day but thankfully the temps are up above 0....so we're off to Sydney for some retail therapy and maybe dinner out!
