Love and Loneliness
We have our neighbour's sheep on the Land again, to keep them off his crop, and to keep our vegetation down to lessen fire risk come summer - but I grieve at the loss of flowers and beauty. It's a bone of contention...

All through a fog of tiredness, my own fault, reading into the early hours to finish Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, what a great book (thanks, Gaynor!). Such an insight to the loneliness that plagues our society these days, should be required reading. Amazed how well she writes, laughed out loud more than once, but mostly just really moving, heart warming and motivating to be kinder, especially to those on the fringes. From the epigraph by Olivia Laing:
...the lonelier a person gets, the less adept they become at navigating social currents. Loneliness grows around them, like mould or fur, a prophylactic that inhibits contact, no matter how badly contact is desired. Loneliness is accretive, extending and perpetuating itself. Once it becomes impacted, it is by no means easy to dislodge.
Now off to the Eucharist, and our weekly dinner date with the Padre - and others - notwithstanding that we ate together last night.
