Weekly Cleaning

I love my Saeco machine every morning when I place my cup under the spout, push a button, and wait a minute while it grinds the beans and makes a delicious cup of espresso. I drink it standing at the kitchen counter, reading the local paper.

I add more beans to the hopper, top up the water tank, and empty the grounds every two or three days, depending on how many cups I've made. About once a week, the "engine" has to be cleaned -- it takes five or ten minutes. That's the strange black thing on the right. Today was cleaning day.

I almost forgot to mention the great lattes I make mid-morning, when I'm not out playing pickleball or pétanque.
