Christmas tree pyre

A mountain of naked Christmas trees were torched on the beach this evening. A primeval gathering luring hundreds to stand, stare, and remind their young, that the 2018 Christmas festivities were finally all over.

Running on the beach at dawn I enjoyed the brief rays of Epiphany sunshine before the murk returned for the rest of the day. Our de-decorated Christmas tree was spared the beach inferno and will be re-cycled next week.
