Almost too easy
Still lacking in photographic inspiration, I decided to go with the always-adorable Black-capped Chickadee. They are somewhat difficult to photograph for several reasons: 1) the contrasting black and white is hard to expose properly, and 2) they are in nearly constant motion. So, while they are a common backyard bird, I don't blip them all that often.
Today the light was right and the bird perched briefly on a perfectly curved branch with an obstruction-free background. And when he (she?) tilted his head, it all came together. Made some adjustments to the shadows and highlights in LR, cropped a bit and ... done.
Hubs is picking MIL up now, so soon I will be helping him get her settled in for a visit and dinner. Hoping to grab a little time to address some envelopes for my New Year's cards (yes, because I totally baled on Christmas cards this year!)
Thanks for the love on yesterday's nuthatch!
