Mar’s Wark

The façade is all that remains of  Mar's Wark, the  magnificent townhouse built in 1560s for John Erskine, Earl of Mar, keeper of Stirling castle.
 
 
Today it is one of the first historic monuments tourists photograph when they come here, even on a quiet and rainy Sunday afternoon in January.
 
Hopefully this is not too late an entry for Derelict Sunday.
