Silhouette
Silhouettes. The word derives from a French politician who, it is said, made outline drawings of people. It was minimalist in intention. It created mystery. It allows the observer to fill in the details...or leave the mystery.
Here, the image is back-lit by a strong, sinking sun. I find the interplay of light and dark, yin and yan, appealing. Unless the light shines on the area in focus nothing is revealed. So too in ife we can choose to avoid illumination and to be hidden by darkness. It is good to be away from unwelcome light, the public gaze, from time to time, to recover our sense of purpose. We need light and darkness to grow.
