Old Boles

The plumber arrived at 10 am this morning and the faulty part was soon installed and the heating and hot water was restored. Whoopee! It's been a bit of a tough experience over the last few days.

I'm sure many others will have had similar experiences in their earlier life when central heating was not as prevalent as it is today. The main living rooms would be heated but going to the loo in winter was not something you'd spend too much time over and going to bed would be a question of getting the hot water bottle, putting it in your bed and getting in before taking your clothes off. Whatever the grumblings might be, it's nothing compared with folks who are rough sleeping at this time of year.

The trees in my blip are on Old Walls Hill. It's the road that leads down to the Bishops Palace. Just a few ruins now but it was where the Exeter Bishops used to spend the summer months, possibly to avoid the bubonic plague which recurred in the summer. I don't suppose these trees are old enough to have seen the Bishop coming down the hill with his bucket and spade but they do give the impression of being pretty old.
